The 2022 season will be one hell of a season for the two Palisades resorts high in the Californian alpine regions as they are finally connected thanks to an incredible gondola project. Not only will it be easy to ride both resorts but one of the most famous lifts in the whole resort is getting a massive upgrade. Red Dog is famous for being one of the most scariest lift rides in the Lake Tahoe region and offers some great advanced riding on Snow King mountain. It’s also the best place to ride during a mega storm as the lift remains more protected when compared to the others in the high alpine. This upgrade to a high speed six pack will lift more riders out of the base region and offer more stability during the ride which am be essential when those howling storms roll through the Lake Tahoe region. Endless powder laps at Palisades Tahoe here we come!

In 1989, it was upgraded from a two-seater to a three-person lift, and now, more than 30 years later, it’s time to give it another upgrade. This summer, Red Dog will be replaced with a high-speed, detachable six-person lift. The base terminal will be moved to the east, giving skiers direct access to the lift right from the parking lot. The lift will pass over the Far East Express and terminate in the same location it does now. The new Red Dog is slated to spin for the 2022-23 season.Key Project Benefits3 minute chairlift ride50% increased uphill capacity250 feet from the parking lot to the chair.
