Opening weekend couldn’t come any sooner for Mt Shasta Ski Park and this weekend might just be the best season opening of any ski resort across North America. Mt Shasta is opening on Saturday the 10th of December and they have a brand new quad lift, new intermediate and advanced terrain expansion, a new trail map + to top it all off there is 45” of snow in the forecast for the resort.

In April the team officially announced their plans to expand its lift serviced skiing onto the Gray Butte aspect of Mt Shasta and since then it’s been non stop construction. The new terrain expansion will lift the summit elevation of the ski resort to 7,536ft (2,297m) which in turn changes the vertical drop of Mt Shasta Ski Park to 2,036ft (621m). Intermediate and advanced riders benefit the most from this new expansion with the 6 new marked trails and easier access from backcountry riders with new gated access to the many lines found on Mt Shasta. The new zone is serviced by a brand new quad lift which was built by Doppelmayr over the summer season and is ready to welcome guest for the first rides this opening weekend.

The first drafts of the trail map were first released in Mat 2022 and we have been patiently waiting to see the final artist version which is now available to download on our website.
