Mt Shasta Open Snow forecast. Credit: OpenSnow Home to one of the largest terrain expansions of the season the team at Mt Shasta Ski Park have been busy all summer long. In April the team officially announced their plans to expand its lift serviced skiing onto the Gray Butte aspect of Mt Shasta and since then it’s been non stop construction. The new terrain expansion will lift the summit elevation of the ski resort to 7,536ft (2,297m) which in turn changes the vertical drop of Mt Shasta Ski Park to 2,036ft (621m). Intermediate and advanced riders benefit the most from this new expansion with the 6 new marked trails and easier access from backcountry riders with new gated access to the many lines found on Mt Shasta. The new zone is serviced by a brand new quad lift which was built by Doppelmayr over the summer season and is ready to welcome guest for the first rides this opening weekend.
