Montana Snowbowl, located in Missoula, Montana, has recently opened its latest addition to the ski resort - the SkyTrac triple chairlift called the Transporter. This chairlift is one of the steepest in the country and has several benefits for visitors. The Transporter is the second chairlift to service the upper mountain of the ski resort from the base area, which has resulted in a significant increase in capacity. In addition to this, it directly accesses Snow Park, which was previously difficult to reach, and allows for easier access to beginner terrain for the Snowpark runs, eliminating the need to take the Grizzly chair up and then take a long cat trail. The ride to the top of TV Mountain, where Snow Park is located, covers a distance of 3,800 feet and takes approximately nine minutes. The lift climbs 1,700 vertical feet, offering visitors a scenic view of the Montana landscape. According to Brad Morris, the Owner of Montana Snowbowl, the new chairlift is a major upgrade for the ski resort, offering visitors an improved skiing experience. Morris explained to The Missoulian that the Transporter provides better access to the Snowpark runs and has resulted in the addition of five new runs to their terrain network. These new runs include three double black diamonds, an advanced trail, and an intermediate run located near the base area.

With this feature, visitors can return to the base area easily without having to ski or snowboard down the mountain. “It’s pretty fast. It’s pretty steep. It makes it easier to get over to Snow Park” — Brad Morris, Owner of the Montana Snowbowl The addition of the Transporter has been a significant investment for the Montana Snowbowl, but the ski resort believes that the benefits of the new lift will improve the overall experience for visitors, making it a worthwhile investment.
