Palisades Tahoe Breaks All Time Snow Record

At 7:00 am on the 18th of April, it was confirmed that the current season has broken the record for the snowiest season on record with the 22/23 season taking the top spot in the history books. Palisades Tahoe, formerly known as Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, reported 6 inches of fresh snow at 4:58 am, with more still coming down. The snowfall continued to accumulate over the next couple of hours, with an additional 4 inches falling by 7:00 am bringing the total to 710 inches, and securing the resort's position in the top spot for the snowiest season on record.The annual average snowfall for the area is 400 inches, or 33 feet, but the current snowpack is 710 inches, which is equivalent to 59 feet, or 178% of the annual average. The snowfall is not expected to stop anytime soon, with more snow in the forecast for the coming days. The deep snowpack has led to excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions, with the resort's terrain parks and backcountry areas attracting more visitors than ever before.
