Sugarbush Resort, nestled in the picturesque state of Vermont, has recently unveiled an impressive plan to invest $12.6 million in capital improvements through the coming summer. These developments promise to enhance the guest experience and the overall quality of skiing at the resort.

Let's dive into the exciting changes and upgrades that visitors can look forward to in the upcoming seasons.

“It has been incredible to see the continued commitment from Alterra Mountain Company towards improving the infrastructure and operations here at Sugarbush. One of the most prominent highlights of Sugarbush's investment plan is the replacement of the Heaven’s Gate Triple with a modern fixed grip quad. This new lift will not only offer improved reliability but also better wind resistance due to a slight realignment and innovative slatted seat backs.

The construction of this lift is tentatively scheduled for the spring of 2024, ensuring it's ready for the 2024/25 winter season.Enhanced Snowmaking InfrastructureSugarbush Resort is no stranger to the importance of efficient snowmaking, especially in Vermont's unpredictable winters.

To this end, they've allocated $3 million for snowmaking infrastructure upgrades, with a primary focus on Mt. Ellen for the upcoming winter.

These investments build on a multiyear effort to enhance snowmaking systems, including upgrades to Northstar, Inverness, and the Summit Quad terrain with energy-efficient infrastructure. This overhaul enables Sugarbush to make snow more efficiently, consume less energy, open terrain faster, and recover swiftly from adverse weather events.

These investments follow the completion of several snowmaking projects at Lincoln Peak over the last year. These projects include the addition of snowmaking to the newly recut Reverse Traverse, the installation of a new weir at the Lincoln Peak Snowmaking Pond, and the overhaul of snowmaking pipe and guns on runs like Easy Rider and Pushover.
