Abetone typically operates from early December through late March, with January and February delivering the most consistent conditions. Being more southerly than Alpine resorts, Abetone benefits from milder temperatures while maintaining excellent snow quality thanks to its 1,400-metre average elevation and comprehensive snowmaking system covering 80% of skiable terrain. The region receives approximately 4 metres of natural snowfall annually, with the Val di Luce sector often receiving the heaviest accumulations. Spring skiing in March features warm sunshine and well-maintained snow, particularly on north-facing slopes.
