    Kranzberg Lift System

    The lift system at Kranzberg features 6 installations efficiently serving the mountain's varied terrain. The network includes a historic chairlift and surface lifts that maintain steady uphill capacity without extensive queues. With a vertical drop of 300m, the lifts provide access to diverse skiing zones across the mountain face. The Kranzberg chairlift transports skiers smoothly to 1,391m, offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Bavarian and Tyrolean Alps.

    Located near Mittenwald in Upper Bavaria, Kranzberg sits approximately 100km south of Munich and just 7km from the Austrian border. The resort enjoys a spectacular position surrounded by impressive Alpine peaks, with easy access from major population centers. This convenient location allows for excellent day trips while maintaining an authentic mountain atmosphere. The historic town of Mittenwald, famous for its violin-making tradition and beautifully painted buildings, provides charming accommodation options and excellent dining serving authentic Bavarian specialties.

    Season Info

    Kranzberg typically operates from December through March, with the most consistent conditions in January and February. The resort benefits from its position in one of Bavaria's snowiest regions, receiving substantial natural snowfall supplemented by strategic snowmaking on main runs. The north-facing slopes maintain excellent snow quality throughout the season, often preserving powder days after storms. The peaceful atmosphere makes it particularly appealing during school holidays when larger resorts face overcrowding.
