SnowStash for iOS
SnowStash is a free app for skiers and snowboarders. It records your day on snow, keeps a logbook you’ll still want to open in ten years, and puts snow forecasts, resort guides, webcams and trail maps for 500+ resorts in the same place.
App overview
Most ski days involve a fair amount of phone juggling. One app to track the day, another for the forecast, a webcam bookmarked somewhere, and a trail map screenshot you’ll never find again when you actually need it.
SnowStash puts all of it in one place. Start a session with a single tap and it counts your runs, lifts, distance, vertical, top speed and time on snow. Between sessions, it’s where you check what the mountain is doing, read up on where you’re heading next and relive the days you’ve already had.
It’s built by skiers who got tired of the juggling, and it’s free.
Latest release
This one is a big update, and the maps are where it starts.
Every map in the app now runs on Mapbox. You get higher definition mapping, a 3D view and tilted perspectives, so the terrain looks like terrain rather than a flat diagram.
Replay the exact route you skied. You can finally settle which run was which, and see where you actually went rather than where you thought you went.
Bring days tracked on other platforms into your SnowStash logbook, so the history doesn’t start from zero.
Start tracking from your wrist without getting your phone out of your jacket.

Track your ski day
One tap starts a session. Pause when lunch runs long, resume when you’re ready, finish when the lifts close. SnowStash detects whether you’re skiing or snowboarding automatically, so there’s no setup before the first chair.
At the end of the day you get the full picture: runs, lifts, distance, vertical, top speed and time on snow. The live map keeps you at the centre while you record. Connect Apple Health if you’d like richer session data, or leave it off, because it’s optional.
Apple Watch
With the Apple Watch connection, you can begin tracking without taking your phone out of your jacket. If you’ve ever tried to unlock a screen at minus 15 with a glove in your teeth, you already know why this matters.

Your logbook
Every day on snow lands in a clean timeline with totals and highlights. Open any session for the full detail: runs, lifts, duration, distance, vertical and speed. Lifetime stats and season-by-season breakdowns show how the years compare, which is either satisfying or a reminder that you skied less than you meant to.
Session playback shows the exact route you took across the mountain, drawn on the new 3D maps. Share a day or export your data as a GPX file in seconds. You can delete any session whenever you like, because your logbook is yours.
Snow forecasts
SnowStash covers forecasts for resorts around the world, so you can check the mountain you’re at today and the one you’re eyeing for next month. We keep our forecasts deliberately conservative. We would rather you turn up pleasantly surprised than stand at a closed lift wondering where the 40 centimetres went.
Explore 500+ resorts
Browse by region, state and resort, with navigation that’s cached so it stays quick even when mountain reception isn’t. Each resort has its own page, built to answer the questions you’d actually ask before a trip: what’s the terrain like, how big is it and what’s it going to be like on the day.
It’s the same logic we use in our written reviews. We aim for honest and practical over brochure copy.
Snow reports
Every resort has its own live snow report, refreshed through the day. Check it over breakfast to decide where to head, and again at the top of the lift if you want to see how right you were.
Live webcams
A snow report tells you what the numbers say, while a webcam tells you whether the numbers are lying. Live webcams are built into each resort page and refresh through the day, so you can see the visibility, the crowds at the base and whether the sun is actually out.
Trail maps
Open any resort’s trail map full screen, with smooth zoom and pan. No pinching at a blurry photo in a gondola queue. Need it offline or on paper? Download any trail map as a PDF.
News
Every SnowStash article is in the app: resort news, lift and pass developments, snowfall updates and trip reports. Read about a resort, check its snow report and open its webcam without leaving the app.
