Neuastenberg Postwiesen is a compact Sauerland hill just south of Kahler Asten, with 16 runs over 8 kilometres and a vertical of 125 metres between 605 and 730 metres. The split is 38% beginner, 43% intermediate and 19% advanced, so there is a little more bite than the short drop suggests. Lifting is mostly old-school: seven T-bars, a quad chair and one other surface lift carry skiers up the slope, which keeps the layout simple and the queues spread across several short tows rather than one bottleneck.

The runs here are short and repeatable, which suits learners building confidence, kids on their first red, and local skiers wanting laps after work. Several slopes are floodlit on selected evenings, and the Osthang is the one usually lit for night sessions. Postwiesen also ties into the wider Skiliftkarussell ticket scheme around Winterberg, so a day can be extended onto neighbouring hills. Do not expect long continuous descents or steep pitches. This is a practical day-trip area from the Ruhr and beyond, best when snowmaking has the slopes in good order.

Neuastenberg Postwiesen typically operates from December through March, with the most consistent conditions in January and February. The resort has invested heavily in snowmaking technology, with extensive coverage ensuring reliable skiing regardless of natural snowfall patterns. The Sauerland microclimate often delivers surprising powder days, particularly during cold continental weather patterns.
