    Rossfeld Lift System

    The lift system at Rossfeld features 5 installations efficiently serving the mountain's varied terrain. The network includes modern chairlifts and surface lifts that maintain steady uphill capacity without extensive queues. With a vertical drop of 200m, the lifts provide access to diverse skiing zones across multiple faces of the mountain. The main chairlift transports skiers smoothly to panoramic viewpoints offering some of Germany's most impressive mountain vistas, including the towering Hoher Göll and Kehlstein peaks.

    Located near Berchtesgaden in southeastern Bavaria, Rossfeld sits approximately 160km from Munich and just 25km from Salzburg in Austria. The resort enjoys a spectacular position along the German-Austrian border, with the famous Rossfeld Panoramastraße providing access to some of the most impressive Alpine viewpoints in Germany. This unique location provides visitors with opportunities to experience both German and Austrian Alpine cultures. The historic town of Berchtesgaden offers excellent accommodation options and authentic dining serving regional specialties in an area renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance.

    Season Info

    Rossfeld typically operates from December through March, with the most reliable conditions in January and February. The resort benefits from its elevated position in one of Bavaria's snowiest regions, with substantial natural snowfall creating excellent powder opportunities after storms. The predominantly north-facing slopes maintain good snow quality throughout the season, often preserving excellent conditions when lower areas struggle. The exceptional panoramic views make Rossfeld particularly appealing during clear, sunny days when the full Alpine panorama is visible.
