Malbun is a small, friendly ski area in Liechtenstein, with 15 runs and 23 kilometres of piste between 1,474 metres and 1,991 metres, a vertical of 517 metres. The grading is 48% beginner, 39% intermediate and 13% advanced, with no expert-rated runs, so it leans towards easy and moderate cruising. Eight lifts serve the terrain, including a six-seater chair, two quad chairs, three surface lifts and two T-bars. The lifts are modern enough that you spend your time skiing rather than queuing, and the compact layout makes the mountain easy to learn quickly.

The Täli chairlift anchors the area, and the Haita run from its top station is the longest descent at around 4 kilometres, finishing through the village. Sareis and Hochegg open up the intermediate slopes, while the Sareiserjoch area holds the steepest pistes and the Renn race slope offers a short, sharp test. A funpark adds variety for snowboarders and freestylers, and there is some modest off-piste when conditions allow. Malbun suits families, beginners and intermediates, and it works well as a relaxed day trip from the Rhine Valley or eastern Switzerland. Advanced skiers will want to look elsewhere.
