Okemo Resort Suffers Major Damage In Vermont Floods

The state of Vermont has been experiencing extensive flooding as a result of a major rainstorm and a wet summer. Several towns, including Killington, Londonderry, and Woodstock, have been severely affected by floods and mudslides over the past few days. Ludlow, home to Okemo Mountain Resort, has suffered significant and heartbreaking damage due to the heavy rain. Reports indicate that Ludlow received approximately six inches of rainfall during this storm. The town experienced widespread flooding due to its proximity to Jewell Brook and the Black River. One of the entrances to Okemo Mountain Resort was affected by a mudslide, which flowed onto Route 100 and the parking lot of the Okemo Marketplace.

The marketplace houses various businesses, such as Darkside Snowboards, Ludlow Pharmacy, Java Baba's, Tygart Mountain Sports, and the town's US Postal Service office.

The damage in Ludlow was extensive, as seen in drone footage captured by Henry's Weather Channel, showcasing the aftermath of the flooding in downtown Ludlow.
