The Sulden winter season typically runs from late November through early May, with optimal conditions from December through April. The area's exceptional elevation ensures outstanding snow preservation throughout winter, with temperatures regularly remaining below freezing even during sunny periods. Early operations concentrate around the Madritsch sector before expanding across the entire network by mid-December. January and February deliver peak powder opportunities, particularly on north-facing slopes that receive minimal direct sunlight. Spring brings increasingly stable weather while maintaining excellent skiing conditions, especially during morning hours after overnight freezes, with corn snow developing through daily freeze-thaw cycles on sun-exposed sectors.
