It’s been a wild week in Utah and specifically the Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. From Alta & Snowbird being placed into Interlodge to also Alta getting 100” (2.5m) of fresh snow we are now seeing the incredible work completed by UDOT who manage the avalanche control on the roads up into the canyons. This video shot by Powderbird (exceptional Heli-ski in Utah) showcases just how wild and powerful these Utah avalanches and mountains can be. Watch to the end to get a better understanding of why the LCC and BCC roads are opened and closed. It’s really not that they want all the powder for themselves, it’s really about safety.
