The Silverado chair at Squaw Valley, CA is officially open for the season as it started turning for the first time on 25th of February. This now expands the open terrain options for advanced riders and includes most of the favourite terrain found at Squaw Valley, CA.What’s unique about Silverado is that it cannot open until there is enough natural snowfall and snowpack to build out the Oregon Trail access roads down to the bottom of the lift. This allows riders to get back to the base of the lift to do it all again.

Last week saw some rainfall below 7,000’ which gave the snow enough stick to be able to hold together and support the grooming machines.
