
Colorado Ski Area First To Open For 21/22 Season

The ski season in North America is just days away now that Wolf Creek, CO has announced they will start spinning lifts this weekend. Thanks for the most recent storm that has covered many parts of the west in their first snow of the season 14” of great Colorado snow has blanketed the ski resort.A Wednesday afternoon post made on their social media announced that they would start spinning the Nova lift from Saturday the 16th of October and Sunday the 17th. In the 20/21 season Wolf Creek opened to the public on October 28 and was again the first ski resort to open in Colorado that season thanks to early season snow which allowed them to open Treasure and Bonanza ski lifts alongside Nova. The resort is well known for receiving some of the highest snowfall totals in the state with 430” (36ft / 1090cm) reported most seasons. Wolf Creek has 10 different lifts that take riders to 77 ski runs which spread out around the 1,600 acres of rideable terrain. The base of the resort is located at 10,300ft and rises 1,604ft to a summit elevation of 11,904ft, this is by no means one of the highest in Colorado, but Wolf Creek makes up for that with exceptional tree skiing and technical terrain and cliff faces.
