Bogus Basin, a non-profit organization, recently announced that they will extend their 80th Anniversary winter season thanks to a recent snowfall of almost four feet. This included a record-breaking storm on March 30th, which dropped a staggering 24 inches of snow. With a total of 119 inches of snow in March alone - more than January and February combined - Bogus Basin plans to continue winter operations through May 6th, the latest date in its 80-year history. The 80th Anniversary season has been an exceptional one for Bogus Basin, which has a long history of providing winter sports enthusiasts with some of the best skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities in the Pacific Northwest region. Visitors to the area have been able to enjoy fantastic snow conditions throughout the season, with a base depth of 116 inches - a rare benchmark that has only been achieved a few times in the past. “We look forward to ending the 2022-23 season on a high note, celebrating with the community and our season pass holders. We were the first mountain in southern Idaho to open, and now we anticipate being the last to close.” — Nate Shake, Bogus Basin Director, Mountain Operations

In fact, it has only happened a few times in the area's history, most recently in March 2019 when the area celebrated "FebruBuried" after receiving over 11 feet of snow in February. The May 6th celebration will commemorate this achievement and bring to a close what has been an epic 2022-23 winter season.During the extended season, Bogus Basin will operate daily through April 16th, and then transition to Fridays through Sundays until April 30th. Weather and conditions permitting, the area will end its historic season with an aMAYzing 100" party on Saturday, May 6th. All pass holders will be invited, and lift tickets will be available for purchase for those who want to join in the festivities. “Bogus Basin’s 80th Anniversary winter has truly been a fairytale season with phenomenal conditions. Record seasons like this remind us how much Bogus Basin means to this community.” — Brad Wilson, Bogus Basin General Manager
