Yesterday, an exciting announcement was made by Bolton Valley Resort in Vermont, as they revealed that Eric DesLauriers, a revered figure in the world of freeskiing and a member of the renowned DesLauriers family, will be returning home to take up the esteemed position of Mountain Operations Director. For the past fifteen years, Eric has been deeply involved with Palisades Tahoe, where he successfully led their esteemed freeride team, gaining worldwide recognition. Now, Eric's exceptional expertise and invaluable experience will be utilized at Bolton Valley, where he will be responsible for a wide range of essential tasks as part of his role, including overseeing the ski patrol, managing lift operations and mechanics, ensuring the maintenance of the grounds, vehicles, and properties, supervising snowmaking and grooming operations, coordinating the mountain bike trail crew, and implementing crucial mountain safety programs. It's worth noting that Bolton Valley is a unique gem in the skiing industry, as it remains an independent, family-run business, standing apart from the ever-expanding ski conglomerates dominating the market. The resort itself was originally established in the 1960s by Ralph DesLauriers, a visionary member of the DesLauriers family. During his formative years and early adulthood, Eric played an instrumental role in shaping the resort, dedicating himself to crafting numerous glades and contributing to the development of the Timberline expansion area.

Eric DesLauriers will now join forces with his brothers Rob, Adam, and Evan in the management of Bolton Valley, a testament to their enduring commitment and passion for the resort. Furthermore, adding to the family's impressive involvement, Eric's sister, Lindsay DesLauriers, proudly holds the esteemed positions of President and CEO of Bolton Valley, ensuring that the DesLauriers legacy continues to thrive within the realm of skiing and hospitality. In the press release, Eric DesLauriers stated his excitement to come home:“I am super stoked to go full-circle and be part of the Bolton Valley team again. Everyone works passionately to create a positive and rewarding experience for our guests and coworkers. I am proud to be here and look forward to doing my part to build on the positive momentum at BV.”
