Snowbird, UT, is welcoming visitors to embark on an extraordinary adventure with the opening of their aerial tram for summer operations on June 17, 2023. This year, the tram introduces a remarkable addition—an exhilarating rooftop observation deck. Setting a precedent in the United States, guests can now fulfil their childhood dreams and ride atop an aerial lift, akin to a mechanic. With specially-built rooftop balconies, riders are treated to a breathtaking 10-minute journey through the open air, offering unparalleled 360° views of the majestic Wasatch range and the canyon below. The Iconic Aerial Tram:The Snowbird Aerial Tram ascends an impressive 2,900 vertical feet to the summit of Hidden Peak, standing at 11,000 feet. Since its original construction in 1971 by Garaventa, the tram has captured the imagination of visitors and become an iconic symbol of Snowbird. Originally boasting a remarkable capacity of 125 people (now reduced to 100), it swiftly became one of the most recognisable aerial tramways worldwide. In 2022, Snowbird enhanced the tramway with state-of-the-art Doppelmayr cabins. These modern cabins feature floor-to-ceiling windows, three glass floor panels, and a rooftop balcony, while still honouring the tram's legacy by donning the original blue and red colours. Although the new tram opened for summer operations in 2022, an incident with one of the trams necessitated a delay in the full opening. However, as of November, the tram is fully operational and ready to transport guests to new heights.

Passengers must be over 42 inches tall to access the balcony and relish the unique opportunity. From the rooftop balconies, riders can savour breathtaking panoramic views while traversing the tram's route. This unparalleled experience allows visitors to feel the rush of wind on their faces as they take in the awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding landscape.
