Deer Valley Resort Embarks on Ambitious Growth Plan

Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, has begun a major expansion project that will significantly increase its size and offerings over the next decade. The 2024-25 season marked the start of this transformation, with the opening of new terrain and lifts in the East Village area. This initial phase is just the beginning of a comprehensive plan that will reshape the resort in the coming years.

The first phase of expansion, completed for the 2024-25 season, added 19 new trails, extended one existing run, and introduced three new lifts. Among these additions is the Green Monster trail, now Utah's longest ski run. The new lifts include the Keetley Express, a high-speed six-pack chairlift with bubble covers, and two others serving beginner and intermediate terrain.

Looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, Deer Valley plans to open 80 new trails and install seven new lifts. A key feature will be a multi-stage gondola to the summit of Park Peak, along with the Pinyon Express, another six-pack bubble chairlift. These additions will cater to skiers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced.

Beyond the on-mountain improvements, Deer Valley is set to redevelop its Snow Park base area. Plans include a new hotel, condos, commercial space, and a large parking structure. The base lodge will undergo renovations, and a new two-stage gondola will connect to Park Peak.

When completed, Deer Valley will boast 238 trails, 37 lifts, and 5,726 skiable acres. The resort's expansion represents a significant investment in Utah's ski industry, promising to enhance the skiing experience for visitors in the years to come. As work begins on the Snow Park development, skiers and riders can look forward to a transformed Deer Valley Resort that aims to set new standards in the North American ski resort landscape.
