Arapahoe Basin's Late Season Ski Plans

As the 2024/25 ski season winds down in Colorado, Arapahoe Basin remains the last resort still offering skiing and snowboarding. The resort has recently provided an update on their closing plans, giving skiers and riders a clearer picture of when they might take their final runs of the season.

Arapahoe Basin has set Sunday, June 8 as their scheduled closing date. However, they've also indicated a willingness to extend operations if conditions allow. The resort plans to maintain daily operations until June 1, after which they will reopen for the weekend of June 6-8.

Currently, Arapahoe Basin boasts a 53-inch base, offering ample opportunities for spring skiing. The resort is known for its late-season operations, often being the last to close in Colorado due to its high elevation and north-facing slopes that help preserve snow.

For those looking to make the most of the remaining ski days, Arapahoe Basin is hosting special events. This Sunday, May 25, the resort will hold its Festival of the Brewpubs, featuring beer samples from various breweries.

Arapahoe Basin's commitment to extending the ski season as long as possible is a draw for many Colorado skiers and riders. The resort's high base elevation of 10,780 feet (3,290 metres) and peak elevation of 13,050 feet (3,978 metres) contribute to its ability to maintain skiable conditions well into spring and sometimes early summer. This late-season skiing offers a unique experience, with softer snow and warmer temperatures, appealing to those who aren't quite ready to put away their gear for the year.
