Affordable Multi-Resort Ski Pass Launches for Occasional Skiers

A new ski pass option has emerged for those who hit the slopes only a few times each season. Snow Partners, the operator of Big SNOW American Dream and Mountain Creek in New Jersey, has announced the Snow Triple Play Card (S3P). This $199 pass offers skiers and riders three days of access across a network of 6-10 ski resorts in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

The S3P aims to fill a gap in the market between single-day visitors and season pass holders. It's designed for people who ski or ride occasionally but not frequently enough to justify purchasing a full season pass or more expensive multi-mountain options.

Hugh Reynolds, Chief Marketing Officer of Snow Partners, explained the rationale behind the new pass: "There's this gap in the market between the people who come once and the people that have season passes—there's no product for the people in between. I think we're missing the guests that we're creating; I don't think they have a place to go."

The S3P is similar to Mountain Creek Resort's existing Triple Play Card but expands the offering to include multiple resorts. This new pass aims to encourage more people to engage with skiing and snowboarding, potentially leading them to invest in season passes or other multi-mountain products in the future.

Reynolds also expressed hope that S3P users might eventually explore other pass options like Epic, Ikon, or Indy Pass, stating, "I want skiers at Mountain Creek to travel, to go out West, to go up North. I want them to enjoy all different types of ski resorts, because the more active they are in the lifestyle of skiing and snowboarding, I know Mountain Creek is their backyard resort."

Currently, the S3P appears to be most appealing to those in the New York City metropolitan area, given the proximity of the two announced ski resorts. However, Snow Partners aims to promote the product in other markets such as Philadelphia and Boston, suggesting that partner resorts will be spread across the East Coast.

The S3P is scheduled to launch during Labor Day Weekend and will be available for purchase until around Christmas. This timing allows skiers and riders to plan their winter activities and take advantage of the pass during the peak ski season.

Big SNOW American Dream and Mountain Creek, the two confirmed resorts on the pass, offer varied skiing experiences. Big SNOW is North America's first indoor ski resort, providing year-round skiing and snowboarding in a climate-controlled environment. Mountain Creek, on the other hand, is a traditional outdoor resort featuring 167 acres of skiable terrain across four mountain peaks in Vernon, New Jersey.
