New Luxury Hotel Coming to Sun Valley in 2026
Ketchum, Idaho, is set to welcome a new upscale accommodation option near Sun Valley Resort. Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open The Harriman, a luxury hotel in downtown Ketchum, scheduled for completion in June 2026. The hotel's location will provide easy access to both Bald and Dollar Mountains, with the closest base area being River Run at Bald Mountain.

The Harriman, named after Sun Valley Resort founder W. Averell Harriman, will offer 73 hotel rooms and 12 penthouse residences. Guests can expect a range of amenities, including a full-service spa with six treatment rooms, an indoor thermal pool, cold plunge pool, sauna, and steam rooms. The hotel will also feature a skier concierge service, a restaurant, and conference and event spaces.
A highlight of the property will be its rooftop deck and bar, located on the top floor. This space will provide panoramic views of Ketchum, Sun Valley Resort, and the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve, offering a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape.

Andrew Blank, the majority owner of The Harriman project, emphasised the hotel's connection to Sun Valley's history while looking towards its future. The design team includes John Davis of Hornberger+Worstell, Mark de Reus and Chris Strahle of de Reus Architects, and Fatima Silva of FDG Design Group.
Sun Valley Resort, established in 1936, is known for its world-class skiing and year-round outdoor activities. The addition of The Harriman to Ketchum's accommodation options aims to enhance the area's appeal to luxury travellers and ski enthusiasts. With its prime location and high-end amenities, the hotel is positioned to become a significant draw for visitors to this popular Idaho ski destination.
