Angel Fire Resort Expands with New Lifts and Activities
Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico is set to undergo significant changes over the next two years. The resort has announced plans to install two new chairlifts and introduce several summer attractions, aiming to improve both winter and summer experiences for visitors.

The first new lift, named Rakes' Rider, will be a fixed-grip quad chairlift on the resort's backside. It will follow the path of the former Lift 6, which was removed in 1998. This lift will provide quicker access to The Steeps and Liberation Park Lift areas. For the 2026-27 season, Angel Fire plans to add a high-speed detachable six-pack chairlift at the base area. This lift will serve beginner and intermediate terrain, making it easier for less experienced skiers and riders to navigate the mountain. It's expected to be the first six-pack chairlift in New Mexico.

Angel Fire Resort is also enhancing its summer offerings. Current attractions include 60 miles of mountain biking trails, an 18-hole golf course, a zipline adventure tour, and activities at Monte Verde Lake. New additions will include eight pickleball courts, a Tennis & Pickleball Pro Shop, a water splash pad, and a children's disc golf course. These improvements aim to solidify Angel Fire's position as a year-round destination.
For accommodation, the resort offers various options including The Lodge, Angel Fire RV Resort, and vacation rental properties. Summer visitors can take advantage of discounts on stays and receive complimentary adventure passes, encouraging longer visits and exploration of the resort's expanded amenities.
