Burke Mountain Resort Restructures with Industry Veterans
Burke Mountain Resort in Vermont has introduced a new leadership team following its recent sale to Bear Den Partners. The restructure aims to revitalise the ski area and set it on a path for future growth. Tom Day, a seasoned ski industry professional, will step in as interim General Manager from June 6th. Day's extensive experience includes successful tenures at Waterville Valley and Gunstock Mountain Resort, where he significantly boosted visitor numbers and revenue.

The new leadership structure at Burke Mountain also includes Kevin Mack, the former GM, transitioning to Vice President of Transition Services. He will oversee business services, including hotel operations. Kevin Fortier joins as CFO, bringing valuable experience from growing Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs into a national brand. Bear Den Partners has also assembled a team of advisors with expertise in various aspects of resort management, including business development, hospitality, food and beverage operations, and marketing.
Jon Schaefer, part of Bear Den Partners, expressed confidence in the new team's ability to guide Burke Mountain through its transition while maintaining the existing operational structure. The advisors, all skiers, snowboarders, or mountain bikers themselves, share a passion for the resort and the region.
