The dedication event was attended by 200 invited guests and numerous fans who gathered to celebrate Odermatt's accomplishment. At 27 years old, Odermatt has competed in Kitzbühel 12 times since 2019, securing eight top 10 finishes before his triumphant win in 2025. The gondola dedication marks a significant milestone in his relationship with the resort, which he hadn't visited during summer in nearly two decades.

Kitzbühel Ski Resort, located in the Austrian Alps, is renowned for its challenging slopes and prestigious ski competitions. The Hahnenkammbahn, where Odermatt's gondola now resides, is an iconic feature of the resort. It serves as the main access point to the famous Streif downhill course, considered one of the most demanding in the world. The resort's decision to honour Odermatt with a personalised gondola underscores the significance of his achievement on this legendary slope. For Odermatt, this recognition represents the realisation of a childhood dream, as he expressed gratitude for the "great honour" bestowed upon him by the resort.
