Mayrhofen Unveils SkyRide Ahorn for Enhanced Mountain Access

Mayrhofen has introduced the SkyRide Ahorn, a new open-air gondola experience atop the Ahornbahn, Austria's largest aerial tramway. This addition offers visitors panoramic views of the Zillertal mountains during their ascent to the Ahorn plateau. The SkyRide can accommodate up to 30 people per trip, providing a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape.

Upon reaching the Ahorn plateau, visitors can explore the new Greifen Bridge, which spans over 70 metres and offers impressive views of Mayrhofen below. The area now features an expanded network of hiking and themed trails, including the new AlbertAdler Adventure Trail. This trail begins at the AdlerAuge viewing platform and guides hikers through interactive stations across the Ahorn plateau, showcasing the area's natural beauty.

For those seeking more challenging routes, the FalkenSteig trail leads to the GreifenBrücke, while the Filzenkogel hiking trail offers a summit experience at 2,227 metres. This trail provides views of the Stillup Valley and the Zillertal Alps.

The Ahorn area serves as an entry point to the Zillertal Alps Nature Park, offering access to an extensive hiking network. These new additions complement Mayrhofen's existing ski infrastructure, enhancing its appeal as a year-round destination.

Mayrhofen ski resort, located in the heart of the Zillertal Valley, is known for its diverse terrain suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort boasts modern lift systems, including the Ahornbahn, which now features the SkyRide experience. With these new summer attractions, Mayrhofen continues to develop its offerings, aiming to attract visitors throughout the year and solidify its position as a premier Alpine destination.
