In an impressive feat, the largest capital improvement project in the history of Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is making remarkable progress ahead of schedule. The resort's ambitious $7.5 million expansion of the Lakeview zone is set to revolutionise the skiing and riding experience on the mountain. The focal point of this expansion is the introduction of the Lakeview Express lift, designed specifically for low-level and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The newly created Lakeside trail will offer breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, serving as the preferred pathway to access the popular Around the World trail. With much of the groundwork already completed for the high-speed Lakeview Express lift, the extensive foundation preparation is nearing its final stages.

“The expansion of the Lakeview zone, trail improvements, and the addition of the new express chairlift will have a transformative effect on the way people access that area of the mountain. Skiers and riders of all ability levels will enjoy expansive views of Lake Tahoe that they haven’t had before, and the new Lakeside trail is sure to quickly become a favourite of many thanks to its gentle wide flow complimented by stellar lake views.” — Mike Pierce, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe marketing director Weather and snow conditions permitting, the Lakeview chairlift is scheduled to debut during the 2022-23 winter season. This eagerly anticipated addition will grant beginner-level skiers and riders an ideal route from the top of the Lakeview lift to the Around the World ski trail, ensuring that they can relish the scenic beauty of the lake while enjoying accessible terrain.Furthermore, the other lifts on the mountain are receiving notable upgrades, including a fresh, modern paint scheme and low-voltage drive updates for the fixed-grip chairs. As Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe undergoes this transformational project, excitement is building for the upcoming winter season, where visitors can look forward to an enhanced and unforgettable mountain experience.
