Alpental has exciting plans for improvements, including the replacement of the old Sessel chairlift with a new Doppelmayr fixed-grip triple chairlift and the construction of a new International Chairlift. The Sessel triple chairlift will be realigned and extended to provide quick access to the future International Chair and a longer descent. Construction of the International Chairlift will begin in May and will take two summers to complete due to its elevation and lack of access. To begin construction, the slopes will be torn up from April 24th, and the season will conclude on April 23rd. However, to make up for the shortened season, Alpental will add two extra Fridays and extend operations at Summit Central and Silver Fir. The closure is unavoidable to start construction safely and stay on the project timelines. The improvements will provide more laps, choices, and higher chairlift dependability for years to come.
