Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Pond Skin To End Historic Season
Michael Fulton (SnowStash)
Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado wrapped up a historic ski and ride season over the weekend with a variety of activities, including live music, fun events, and plenty of bizarre costumes. This year, the resort experienced an impressive 325.5 inches of snowfall, which is the third-highest snow total recorded since 1989.One of the highlights of the weekend was the annual Pond Skim event, which raised funds for Crested Butte State of Mind. Spectators watched as participants attempted to ski or snowboard across a man-made pond while wearing entertaining outfits. Those who successfully skimmed across the pond received recognition, and all participants received a rubber ducky from the Bud Light Prize Zone, which included prizes from Oakley, Helly Hansen, and Bud Light partners. DJ Red, also known as former Olympian Wendy Fischer, provided the music, followed by an after-party at Butte 66 with Easy Jim.
