TL;DR
Chairlifts are an everyday sight at ski resorts, but occasionally they come to an abrupt halt. Usually, it's due to a skier falling off the chair at the top, but the situation is usually resolved quickly. However, if a powerful gust of wind hits while you're 30-40 feet above the ground, it can be dangerous. The skiers in a video from Big Sky Resort found themselves clinging to the chairlift for dear life, while an empty chair swung violently towards them, creating a harrowing experience. This is one of the wildest chairlift videos seen with people on it.
