Fire Destroys Part of Condo Building Near Okemo Mountain Resort A fire on Saturday night destroyed part of a condo complex near Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, Vermont. The fire occurred at the Slopeside Condos located at 60 Okemo Trailside Road, close to the Sachem ski trail. Fourteen people were inside the building when the fire broke out, but thankfully, all managed to escape unharmed. One side of the condo building was completely destroyed, while the other side suffered only minor damage.

According to NBC5, nine local fire departments responded to the scene. The Vermont Division of Fire Safety and the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit concluded that the fire started in the chimney chase of unit A and was accidental.

The Ludlow Fire Department clarified that the affected building is not owned by Okemo Mountain Resort or Vail Resorts, and the fire will not impact the resort’s facilities or its scheduled opening for the 2024-25 season.
