Saddleback Mountain Expands Operations with Enhanced Snowmaking and Upgraded Facilities

Maine's Favourite Mountain™ has quietly but significantly expanded its operations for the 2024-25 season. While the ski resort has undergone major transformations since reopening in 2020, including a high-speed quad, t-bar installation, and a new mid-mountain lodge, this year's improvements focus on enhancing the core skiing experience.

General Manager Jim Quimby recently revealed several key improvements that will elevate the guest experience. The resort has increased its snowmaking capacity by 75%, addressing previous coverage limitations in critical areas. This expansion ensures more consistent snow conditions throughout the season.

Beyond snow operations, Saddleback has enhanced its retail presence with the opening of Base Camp Supply, a new retail shop. The original retail space has been converted to focus exclusively on essential equipment like skis, boots, and helmets. The resort has also invested in a Wintersteiger machine for professional ski and snowboard tuning services.

Additional improvements include:

  • Comprehensive maintenance on existing chairlifts
  • Extensive trail and glade maintenance
  • Expanded services at The Nest
  • Enhanced equipment tuning capabilities
