Revolutionary Gondola Doubles Capacity at Skicircus Saalbach

The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn has unveiled its latest advancement in lift technology – the new 10-seater Streuböden gondola. This modern lift system provides skiers and riders with direct access from the Fieberbrunn parking area to the Lärchfilzkogel summit at 1,654 meters, eliminating the need for lift transfers.

The Streuböden gondola showcases Doppelmayr's latest technology, featuring 91 Ferrari-red Omega V cabins. Each cabin offers panoramic views through generous glazing and comfortable seating for 10 passengers. The lift operates at an impressive speed of 6 meters per second, ensuring quick mountain access for guests.

Perhaps most notably, the new gondola more than doubles the previous lift capacity, now moving 2,500 people per hour. This significant upgrade means shorter queue times, even during the busiest periods of the ski season.

The design prioritises accessibility and comfort, with weather-protected stations and modern facilities including new restrooms suitable for families and guests with reduced mobility. The stations feature wooden shingle facades that blend naturally with the alpine environment, while incorporating sustainable elements like photovoltaic panels.

As the 39th project implemented by Melzer & Hopfner in this ski area since 1993, the Streuböden gondola represents another step forward for Skicircus Saalbach. The lift's modern technology, including Doppelmayr's latest drive system, ensures quiet and efficient operation while maintaining the resort's position as a leading global ski destination.

The gondola's distinctive design includes a special Pride cabin, reflecting the resort's commitment to inclusivity. This combination of technical innovation and thoughtful design demonstrates Skicircus Saalbach's dedication to enhancing the guest experience while respecting the natural alpine environment.
