    Stevens Pass Modifies Parking Strategy in Response to Skier Feedback

    Stevens Pass ski resort in Washington has announced changes to its parking policy for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The resort had initially planned to implement paid parking reservations for weekends and holidays, but after receiving significant feedback from skiers and riders, they've opted for a more flexible approach.

    The revised plan will offer a combination of free and paid parking options, with reservations available for certain lots. This new strategy aims to encourage carpooling and provide more choices for visitors. The original proposal would have required a $20 fee for parking on weekends and holidays until 10 am, unless vehicles had four or more occupants.

    The decision to modify the parking plan came after some pass holders expressed concerns about the potential costs, especially when compared to nearby resorts like Crystal Mountain and The Summit at Snoqualmie. Some skiers and riders had even considered not purchasing Epic Passes for the upcoming season due to the proposed changes.

    This responsive approach by Stevens Pass management has been well-received by the local skiing community. The resort's willingness to listen to and act on guest feedback sets a positive example for other ski areas, both within and outside the Vail Resorts portfolio.

    Stevens Pass, located in the Cascade Mountains, is a popular destination for skiers and riders from the Seattle area. The resort offers a variety of terrain suitable for all skill levels, with an average annual snowfall of 460 inches. Its proximity to Seattle, about a two-hour drive, makes it a favourite for both day trips and weekend getaways. The current 2024-25 season at Stevens Pass is scheduled to conclude on April 13th.
