TL;DR
Kelly Canyon had a rough 2025-26, and the Idaho resort has spent the summer making sure it doesn’t repeat. Snowmaking now reaches the top of Goldrush, the terrain park is doubling in size with a stereo system, lights and a snack shack, and the car park is getting bigger. Grooming is stepping up too. Target opening is December 4, conditions permitting.
Kelly Canyon had a poor 2025-26 season, and its summer works list reads like a response to it.
The Idaho resort has announced upgrades to snowmaking, grooming, the terrain park and parking for 2026-27. Opening is projected for December 4, conditions allowing.
More snowmaking on Goldrush
The summer work centred on the snowmaking system, which has been extended to the top of Goldrush. The aim is broader trail coverage and higher output, so the resort can open terrain earlier and hold it longer when temperatures allow. Goldrush is the main beneficiary, with the new infrastructure reaching the full length of the trail.

Grooming
Kelly Canyon has also announced increased grooming for the season, but hasn’t said how. The idea is more runs prepared in less time. The resort’s own summary was brief: “More groomed runs, more consistently - better corduroy from first chair to last.”
