TL;DR
The Rockies get their first lift-served turns of the season early. Lake Louise opens Sunday 1 November, five days ahead of schedule, after a cold October and round-the-clock work from the snowmaking and mountain crews. Terrain is limited to Juniper Express Chair and Easy Street, with two small terrain parks and the beginner area for lessons. Opening-day tickets are over 60% off, with prices rising as more lifts open. First chair is at 9:30 am under the resort’s new lift hours.
First chair at Lake Louise turns earlier than planned this season.
Lake Louise Ski Resort in Alberta opens for the 2026/27 winter on Sunday 1 November, five days ahead of schedule. The resort says it is the earliest opening in five years and the second-earliest on record. It credits cold October temperatures and around-the-clock work by its snowmaking and mountain crews for the early start.
What is open on opening day
Juniper Express Chair will run with access to Easy Street, and first chair is at 9:30 am. Two small early-season terrain parks will have jumps and rails. The beginner area will be open for Snow School lessons, though the resort asks people to contact Snow School for details and availability.
For food and drink, the Lodge of Ten Peaks Cafeteria, Slopeside Coffee and Powder Keg Lounge will all be operating. Rentals, retail and tuning will be available too, and the resort suggests arriving early if you need gear sorted before heading out.
Terrain will be limited at the start of the season. More lifts and runs will open as conditions allow, and the resort points skiers to its conditions page for current lift and terrain updates.
