The centrepiece of the announcement is a CAD 42.5 million (USD 30.6 million) investment that will add 62 acres of new skiable terrain to the resort, served by a new high-speed quad chairlift. Tremblant says the project will lift the resort's overall hourly lift capacity by 10 percent. Patrice Malo, president and chief operating officer of Station Mont Tremblant, framed the expansion as part of the resort's longer-term direction:
"Timber Summit represents much more than an expansion of our ski terrain. It reflects our commitment to continually elevating the Tremblant experience and creating new opportunities for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, today's families, and generations to come."

What's coming with Timber Summit
The new sector adds eight trails in total, seven running toward Versant Soleil and one toward Tremblant's North Side, with a vertical drop of 428 metres down to Versant Soleil. The terrain mix leans intermediate: 35 percent beginner, 60 percent intermediate and 5 percent expert, with complete snowmaking coverage planned across all of the new terrain.
Access will come via the Timber Express, a new detachable high-speed quad chairlift running 1,800 metres with a vertical rise of 423 metres, 125 chairs and a capacity of 2,400 skiers per hour. Tremblant describes the lift technology as comparable to its existing Lowell Thomas Express, a high-speed Doppelmayr quad that opened at the resort in 2018.
A new beginner area arrives first, this coming season
Ahead of Timber Summit's opening, Tremblant will introduce a new dedicated learning area at the base of Versant Soleil for the 2026/27 season, arriving a full year earlier than the main expansion. Located next to the Casino Express Gondola, the 1.1-acre zone is designed specifically for first-time skiers and Snow School programs, with gentle terrain averaging around 13 degrees of slope.
It will include a covered magic carpet for easy access and its own dedicated snowmaking system, and will operate on weekends and during peak periods. Tremblant also pointed to the confirmed presence of Club Med Tremblant as a factor supporting the continued growth of the Versant Soleil sector more broadly.
A project six years in the making
Timber Summit isn't a new idea. Tremblant first announced a version of this expansion back in March 2020, at the time carrying a budget of just CAD 8.8 million and an original opening target of the 2021/22 season, with the new summit's high-speed quad and beginner area making up the bulk of that spend.
That earlier timeline slipped, and the project sat dormant for several years before resurfacing in its current, substantially larger form. The investment figure has grown nearly fivefold since the original announcement, and the opening date has shifted back by six years, from 2021/22 to 2027/28.
