Resort Overview
Silvretta Montafon offers 141 kilometres of diverse skiing terrain extending from 700m to 2,430m elevation across one of Austria's ten largest ski areas in the Montafon Valley of Vorarlberg. This expansive winter sports destination was created in 2008 through the connection of two major ski areas - Hochjoch above Schruns and Silvretta Nova above St. Gallenkirch and Gaschurn - forming the second largest ski area in Vorarlberg. The resort features varied terrain suitable for all skiing abilities, from the longest run stretching 12 kilometres with 1,740m vertical drop to challenging black slopes including the demanding 2-kilometre Piste 44. Over 50% of the ski area sits above 2,000 metres, ensuring reliable snow conditions, while 70 freeride routes and the 300,000 square metre Snowpark Montafon with 40 obstacles provide extensive off-piste and freestyle opportunities. With lift capacity of nearly 66,000 riders per hour across 35 modern installations, this Montafon resort combines authentic Alpine skiing experiences with comprehensive mountain infrastructure, making it one of western Austria's most significant winter sports destinations.
