The Alto Sangro winter season typically spans from early December through mid-April, with January and February delivering optimal conditions. The area receives approximately 3.5 metres of natural snowfall annually, enhanced by extensive snowmaking that ensures consistent coverage across 80% of all marked runs. Early season operations concentrate on higher elevation sectors, particularly around Monte Pratello, before expanding as conditions permit. Spring brings increasingly warm temperatures, with the best skiing typically available on north-facing slopes. The resort's events calendar features January's historic skiing competitions and February's traditional Carnival celebrations.
