The Canyons Village Management Association board has voted to sign a joint funding agreement with Vail Resorts for the construction of a new 10-passenger gondola at Park City's Canyons Village. This decision comes as visitors to the village will soon have a third out-of-base lift option. The gondola will connect the south end of Canyons Village to Red Pine Lodge, spanning a distance of 6,512 feet. The new gondola aims to address the increasing demand for out-of-base capacity and provide an additional downloading option for skiers at the end of the day.With the completion of this project, Park City skiers will have three lift options to choose from: the new Sunrise Gondola, the existing 8-passenger Red Pine Gondola, and the four-passenger Orange Bubble Express chairlift. The 10-passenger cabins of the new gondola will transport riders 1,103 vertical feet between the village and mid-mountain. Its route will follow an undulating alignment, crossing the existing Over and Out quad. The bottom terminal will be situated near the new Pendry hotel, while the top terminal will be located close to the Saddleback Express and High Meadow Express lifts.
