    Lutsen Mountain Lift System

    Lutsen Mountains' modern lift network includes the Midwest's only gondola, plus six chairlifts strategically positioned across four peaks. The iconic red gondola provides year-round access to Moose Mountain, while high-speed quads serve key terrain pods. This efficient system can transport over 10,000 skiers per hour, ensuring maximum time on the slopes and minimal wait times even during peak periods.

    Located just 90 minutes from Duluth along Minnesota's scenic North Shore, Lutsen Mountains rises dramatically from Lake Superior's coastline. The resort's unique position provides both stunning views and favorable weather patterns that enhance snow conditions. The surrounding area offers diverse lodging options, from slope-side accommodations to cozy lakeside cabins, plus easy access to the Superior National Forest and the charming harbor town of Grand Marais.

    Season Info

    Winter transforms Lutsen into Minnesota's snowsports capital, with reliable conditions from mid-November through mid-April. The resort's sophisticated snowmaking system and Lake Superior's natural snow effect combine to maintain excellent coverage across all terrain. Summer and fall bring spectacular hiking, mountain biking, and scenic rides, with the autumn colors creating an especially magnificent display against the lake backdrop.
