Sipapu Ski Resort stands as New Mexico's oldest family-operated ski destination, offering an authentic mountain experience since 1952. Our intimate resort atmosphere combines genuine hospitality with exciting terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Family-friendly and welcoming, we take pride in being an ideal place for beginners to learn while still challenging advanced riders with our varied runs.
Six well-maintained lifts serve our 41 trails, ensuring quick access to every corner of the mountain. Our efficient lift network includes three chairs and three surface lifts, strategically positioned to maximize your time on the slopes. From the gentle learning area to our steeper advanced runs, our lift system keeps waiting times short and skiing time plentiful.

Located just 20 miles southeast of Taos and about two hours from Albuquerque, Sipapu sits in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The resort's 8,200' base elevation rises to a 9,255' summit, providing 1,055 feet of vertical drop. Our scenic mountain setting offers stunning views of the surrounding Carson National Forest while remaining easily accessible for day trips or extended stays.

Typically operating from mid-November through early April, Sipapu boasts one of New Mexico's longest ski seasons. Our location and elevation, combined with advanced snowmaking capabilities, help maintain excellent conditions throughout the winter. Spring skiing here offers particularly memorable experiences, with sunny days and perfectly groomed runs.
