In a move that we can only assume is made with specific calculation it would appear that Homewood Mountain Resort is now the most expensive lift ticket in North America. The resort which sits right on the western shoreline of Lake Tahoe have launched their winter 22/23 season pricing and are now charging $279 USD for tickets purchased on the day of riding from the ticket window.Last year the resort was charging $200 which we think is steep for the offering especially when compared to other resorts less than an hour away. Here in lies our assumption is that the resort is progressing towards their privatisation where rumours have long been swirling.

They are one of the lowest elevation resorts in the region and have the smallest snowmaking coverage which means they are heavily reliant on Mother Nature, using 21/22 season as an example the snowfall came hard and fast before a 8 week dry spell. To now have the most expensive lift ticket in North America there clearly has to be a reason to this, the cost factor for only 400 acres of terrain doesn’t pass the simple pub test.
