Whistler Blackcomb Foundation is offering ski enthusiasts and collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of skiing history. Beginning on Wednesday, May 24, the foundation launched an auction featuring a series of authentic trail signs that once marked iconic runs at North America's largest ski resort. The auction will run until Tuesday, May 30 at 7 p.m., allowing bidders ample time to secure their own piece of Whistler history. These trail signs, generously donated by Whistler Blackcomb and its parent company Vail Resorts, will help raise funds for the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation's community initiatives. With 36 signs available, some of which are the last of the original mountain signage, this auction presents a rare opportunity for ski enthusiasts and collectors alike. The foundation explains on its website that the signs being auctioned were the first of their kind but are now being replaced to match the resort's current design seen on the slopes. For those who missed out on the foundation's recent Creekside Gondola, Red and Fitzsimmons Chair sales, this is a chance to procure a genuine piece of Whistler's skiing heritage.
