Jackson Hole Opening More Lifts And Terrain As Resort Passes 100 Inches Of Snowfall

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) in Wyoming is thrilled to announce the opening of four additional lifts and expanded terrain following a robust winter storm that has brought the season's snowfall to over 100 inches. Another winter storm is currently sweeping through the Tetons, enhancing early-season conditions for visitors at the Resort.

The Casper lift officially opened on Wednesday, Dec. 6, and both the Bridger Gondola and the Marmot lift are set to open on Friday, Dec. 8. On Saturday, Dec. 9, JHMR will open both the Thunder and Sublette lifts, providing access to a broad range of intermediate and advanced terrain. This complements the runs on the north side of the mountain already accessible via the Teewinot, Après Vous, Teton, and Sweetwater lifts.

Last weekend's winter storm contributed 34 inches of snowfall since Dec. 1, and heavy snow is anticipated to resume on Thursday, persisting throughout the weekend.

In addition to the lift openings, JHMR will offer sightseeing on the renowned Aerial Tram from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This marks the beginning of the first full season of the new Thunder Lift, installed in 2022 to replace the original Thunder lift. The upgraded Thunder lift operates at twice the speed of its predecessor, reducing riders' time from over seven minutes to less than four, while maintaining access to some of JHMR's most legendary terrain.

Furthermore, JHMR has announced the upcoming openings of several restaurants. The Casper Restaurant opened on Thursday, followed by the Off-Piste Market on Friday, and the Piste Mountain Bistro will welcome guests on Sunday, Dec. 10. RPK3 had already opened in late November.

For the 2023-24 season, JHMR is once again limiting the sale of daily tickets and managing capacity to enhance the guest experience. Ticket sales are limited on a daily basis and available for advanced purchase, with tickets potentially selling out. Due to high demand, JHMR encourages skiers and riders to make reservations, especially for multi-resort pass products or advance day tickets.

Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective pass holders are required to make lift access reservations, and JHMR recommends making these reservations well in advance. Guests holding a JHMR Winter 2023-24 Season Pass can ski or ride on any day indicated by their pass type.
