Perisher General Manager Off To Whistler As COO
Belinda Trembath, a seasoned ski industry and mountain operations professional with over 30 years of experience, has been appointed as the new Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Whistler Blackcomb. Her appointment will be effective from May 15, 2023. Trembath has previously served as the Chair of the Australian Ski Areas Association since 2018.
Trembath began her career as a ski instructor and was born and raised in the Australian state of Victoria. In 2006, she became the Vice President and General Manager of Mt Hotham, VIC, and in 2019, she started providing oversight for Falls Creek, which has the largest skiable area in Victoria. She was named Vice President and General Manager of Perisher in March 2022 after Peter Brulisauer resigned.
Trembath played a critical role in leading Perisher, Falls Creek, and Mt Hotham through the pandemic and borders reopening. All three resorts are part of Vail Resorts, with the latter two acquired in 2019.
According to Doug Pierini, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Vail Resorts' West Region and Interim COO at Whistler Blackcomb, Trembath's commitment to excellence across the employee, guest, and community experience, as well as her dedication to preserving unique mountain cultures, make her an exceptional mountain operator.
Trembath's appointment as the new COO of Whistler Blackcomb comes just weeks before the start of the Australian ski season. However, her start in Whistler just four weeks before the season opening of Perisher will leave a gap that will need to be filled quickly. Vail Resorts announced her appointment on April 20, 2023.
