Swiss Skiing Icon St. Moritz Becomes Latest Addition to Ikon Pass The Ikon Pass continues its global expansion with the addition of St. Moritz, Switzerland, for the 2024-25 ski season. This move brings one of Europe's most prestigious and expansive ski destinations into the fold, further solidifying Ikon's position as a leader in international ski access.St. Moritz, like many European ski destinations, is not a single resort but a collection of interconnected areas. The St. Moritz addition includes Corviglia/Piz Nair, Corvatsch/Furtschellas, Diavolezza/Lagalb, and several smaller areas such as Pontresina/Languard, Zuoz, Samedan, La Punt, Maloja, and S-Chanf. This complex network of ski terrain offers an immense variety of skiing and riding experiences across multiple valleys and peaks.

Known for its "champagne climate," it boasts 300 days of sunshine per year. The resort has a rich history, having hosted the Winter Olympics twice (in 1928 and 1948) and numerous World Ski Championships. St. Moritz is famous not just for its skiing, but also for its luxury hotels, high-end shopping, and vibrant aprés-ski scene. The resort caters to all levels of skiers and riders, from beginners to experts, with a wide range of terrain across its multiple ski areas. Its high-altitude location (1,856 meters above sea level) ensures reliable snow conditions throughout the winter season.Ikon Pass holders will have seven days to use across all St. Moritz areas, while Ikon Base Pass holders will receive five days with no blackout dates. This addition brings Ikon's European portfolio to six destinations, including Zermatt (also in Switzerland), Grandvalira in Andorra, Kitzbühel in Austria, Chamonix in France, and Dolomiti Superski in Italy.The inclusion of St. Moritz in the Ikon Pass lineup reflects a growing trend of U.S.-based multi-mountain passes expanding into European markets. This move follows Vail Resorts' recent acquisition of Crans-Montana and potential interest in Verbier, both also in Switzerland.
