Zermatt, Switzerland's most iconic ski resort, is gearing up for a major infrastructure upgrade. A new underground rail tunnel is in the works, aiming to boost safety and reliability for travellers heading to this breathtaking year round destination. The Mattertal Tunnel project, set to run from Täsch to Zermatt, will significantly improve the main access route to the resort. This ambitious endeavour is designed to shield the rail line from harsh weather conditions that often disrupt travel during the ski season.
