Utah's Brighton Resort Lights Up Mount Millicent for Night Skiing Brighton Resort, nestled in Utah's Big Cottonwood Canyon, is set to brighten up the night sky even more. For the Winter '24/'25 season, the resort is expanding its night skiing terrain to include Mount Millicent, affectionately known as 'Milly' to locals. This expansion is big news for skiers and riders who love to hit the slopes after dark. Milly is a favourite among regulars, offering long runs, powder-filled areas, and plenty of natural features for those who like to catch some air.Night skiing isn't common in the western United States, where mountains are typically larger and snow is deeper. However, Brighton is embracing its role as a night skiing hub. They've been steadily adding lights to more areas, with Snake Creek lift joining the night lineup in recent years. Now, with Milly in the mix, only the Great Western Express remains unlit for night sessions.

The left side, known for its powder and natural features, probably won't see night skiing action just yet.Skiers and riders can enjoy night runs from 4-9pm, Monday through Saturday, typically from mid-December to late March. Night skiing does come with its own set of challenges, like colder temperatures and reduced visibility, but for many, the chance to spend more time on the snow is worth it. While other resorts north of Salt Lake City also offer night skiing, Brighton's easy access from the city makes it a top choice for after-work runs.As Brighton inches closer to potentially claiming the title of 'Largest Night Skiing Terrain' from Mt. Hood Meadows in Oregon, one thing is clear: when the sun goes down, the fun is just beginning at Brighton Resort.
